      "Bright White" LED

Posted by SmileyFace on Apr 30th 2018

I installed this LED bulb in our master fixtures two years ago and one burnt out...not close to the advertised 13+ year life span listed on the box. At any rate, I first went back to Lowe's, the original purchase place, but they no longer carry the brand. I found what I needed on Amazon and placed my order. When the bulbs arrived (I ordered extra for future replacements), it stated 3500K brightness but when I installed it, the light output was more like 2700K, or rather a warm glow. So, I returned those bulbs. I continued my search on the internet and found LightUp.com. I placed my order and received the bulbs I expected to get...3500K. What I found interesting, however, is the packaging states 3500K on the light appearance scale as WARM when actually it leans towards cool (aka Bright White). I did my research when LED bulbs were really taking off and a variety of light appearance was offered: Warm White 2700K, Bright White 3500K, and Daylight 6500K. This item is made in China. Not sure where the box is made or how the bulb gets into the box but my Amazon experience definitely had the wrong bulb in the box (the bulb was mislabeled as 3500K when really it was 2700K), Light Up had the right bulb but the box is mislabeled for light appearance (showing the light appearance as warm when it's really cool). The bulbs from Light Up came securely packaged with tons of bubble wrap so they couldn't move around in the box. If I need replacement light bulbs in the future, I will use Light Up again.

Bought these for the 3500K color - perfect for my application

Soft white (2700K) was too yellow and Daylight (5000K) was too "blue". These at 3500K are great!
