Description
Customize the Output Power with Dimmable Constant Current LED Drivers
There are LED lights that have internal drivers but there are lights that require the use of an external driver. This Power Selectable Constant Current LED Driver from Keystone is equipped with Power Select and makes it easy to adjust the output current while on the job. With four output power options to choose from, this LED Driver works for a variety of applications by simply sliding a switch. Low optical flicker, dimmable with 0-10V dimmer, and UL Listed (Class P) are just a few of the many features of this LED Driver. Additionally, this LED Driver is RoHS Compliant, has built-in surge protection, and operates between -40ºC/-40ºF and 60°C/140ºF.

Do you need a driver for LED lights?
No, a driver is not needed for all LED lights as it is more and more common for LED lights to have an internal driver. An example of LEDs that contain an internal driver include LED bulbs you would replace in your home. Refer to the specification sheet of the LED light you are installing to verify if an external driver is required.
Are there different types of LED Drivers? How do you choose the correct LED Driver?
There are two different kinds of LED drivers: one that supplies a fixed current and another that supplies a fixed voltage. Respectively, they are called constant current and constant voltage LED drivers. The application and specifications of the LED light are both factors to consider when choosing the right LED driver. This constant current LED Driver has four selectable output currents that can be adjusted by sliding a switch. Constant current LED drivers are typically used for general lighting applications. They are not just applicable for commercial or industrial use, but also residential use.
How does the LED driver connect to power? How do you install an LED Driver?
LED Drivers are wired to the power source as well as the LED light itself. This LED Driver is also dimmable and can be wired to the dimmer if that is desired. Refer to the specification sheet for a wiring diagram for more specifics including which color wires need to be wired to what components.
How do you change an LED driver?
When changing an LED Driver, there are some factors that should be considered including the below:
- Constant Input Voltage
- Needs to match the constant output voltage of the external driver.
- Maximum Power (or Total Power Consumption)
- Cannot exceed the max output power of the LED external driver.
