What is a PAR bulb? What does PAR20 mean on a light bulb?
A PAR bulb is a type of light bulb that stands for Parabolic Aluminized Reflector. PAR bulbs can be used in a variety of applications, such as spotlights, floodlights, and other accent or display lighting. PAR20 is a type of PAR bulb where the 20 indicates the size of the bulb's diameter in eighths of an inch.
What is the difference between PAR20 and R20 bulb?
PAR20 and R20 are two different types of LED bulbs, and while they may look similar, they are not interchangeable. PAR stands for parabolic aluminized reflector while R simply stands for reflector. PAR20 bulbs are designed for use in applications where focused light is needed, while R20 bulbs are designed to replace traditional incandescent bulbs for general or ambient lighting as well as where diffused light is needed. In addition to their varying applications, PAR20 and R20 bulbs have different wattages, sizes and shapes as well and cannot be used interchangeably.
Which is better a PAR20 LED or halogen?
When it comes to deciding between a PAR20 LED bulb and a halogen bulb, it really depends on the specific application. LED bulbs are more energy-efficient than halogen bulbs, meaning they require less energy to produce the same amount of light. Additionally, LED bulbs typically have a much longer lifespan than halogen bulbs meaning less maintenance. However, halogen bulbs often produce a warmer, more natural light, making them a better choice for certain applications. Ultimately, it is up to the individual and the bulb's application to decide which type of bulb is best.
