Which type of LED panel is best? What is the difference between edge lit and backlit lights? Is edge lit better than backlit?
There are two types of LED panels: edge-lit and backlit. The application will determine which panel will be the better choice. There are several other factors to take into consideration including the appearance and cost.
Edge-Lit: The lighting source of an edge lit panel is found along the perimeter of the panel. The light produced on the edges is then dispersed towards the center. That produces an even and shadow-less light distribution.
Backlit: The light source is at the back of the panel. Light is distributed away from the source across the panel and is evenly distributed into the space.
